The Comfort and Style of Sunday, Every Day - Every Season

SwimShow connected with the family-built team of the Canadian-based brand, Everyday Sunday.

The dream of Everyday Sunday is to bring the spirit of a Sunday, or shall we say that Sunday feeling, daily, to each and everyone. We do it through creating designs that make people feel their best. That grace them with uplifting confidence. It’s about feeling good so you can live each moment to the fullest. After all, when we feel great in clothes we love, we shine!

To expand a little, our name Everyday Sunday was inspired by replenishing and slow-paced days when one is genuinely carefree, happy, and present. This peaceful feeling of bliss is exactly how we believe one should feel when wearing the right clothing, and each piece we create is meant to bring our customers comfort and style in every way, so their favorite activities can feel even better.

When it comes to swimwear, we know the search for a piece as intimate as a bathing suit can be an overwhelming one, which is why making this experience positive for our customers is essential. Our team prides itself on crafting an array of complementary and functional designs through a unique process of meticulous research and endless hours of fittings. The result? Timeless and effortlessly flattering pieces, cut from superior and silky soft fabrics, so they can enjoy Everyday Sunday creations for countless seasons and adventures. By designing styles that hug all bodies in the best way, we’ve helped many feel great about their figure, but most importantly helped raise their confidence—because self-love is truly the best way to radiate beauty on all levels.

SS: What can you tell us about Everyday Sunday? When did the brand launch? Was your initial category swim?

ES: Everyday Sunday was founded by my siblings and I who had all been working in our family business for many years at the time. Our first collection was spring/summer ‘14 which we unveiled at Montreal’s Fashion Festival in August of 2013. We were longing to create a brand that inspired us and reflected our values and what we want to put forth in the world. We were also eager to share our creative energy and joie de vivre with everyone! We’ve traveled so much together growing up and share incredible memories. Those travels instilled an openness to the world and thirst for discovery that we still have to this day and hope to share through Everyday Sunday. At ES, we choose to see life as an amazing adventure that never stops surprising and delighting. And success means sharing that vision with our customers!

The swimsuit, which is a garment we had specialized in over the years, was the perfect vehicle for everything we wanted Everyday Sunday to embody and share: joy, positivity, wellbeing, fun, comfort, happiness, discovery! We are deeply passionate about how to best accompany our customers while they are living their life to the fullest and creating memories. It’s ironic because the swimsuit is an item of clothing made for exciting and stress-free moments, yet one that often creates the opposite effect for so many. We want to inspire and help each and everyone to relax and enjoy the present moment. For that, one needs to feel confident and comfortable!

We’ve also had an unbridled love of design for as long as we can remember. The swimsuit is a garment that allows for so much creativity in all aspects of its making! We’ve also noticed that people are often more open to explore different prints, colors and textures with their swimwear.

As for categories, we’ve carried leisurewear items and accessories since the beginning and have gradually added more comfort wear and sleepwear with time, both categories definitely embodying our ES motto “relax and enjoy”! For Spring 23, we are offering children’s swimwear for the first time!

SS: What pieces are your customers shopping for fall?

ES: As the landscape turns golden-orange and the sun sets earlier in the evening, our customers are cozying up in essential comfort wear that can be dressed up or down depending on the mood or occasion!

Among the popular styles are the super soft and breathable dark ivy Sunday hoodie and matching jogger - so perfect for pre or post workouts, simply lounging or for when in need of that perfect airport fit. This set also comes in Cuban sand, along with a V-neck tunic available in the same fabric. The men’s top in this fabric and color comes in a ribbed crewneck and a patch pocket.

The oversized fly away is also having a moment! Its ultimate softness and consciously crafted textured fabric make this piece so much more than a basic cardigan. It can also be paired with the matching joggers for a daytime outfit that feels just like PJs. We suggest styling it with one of our bralettes. We also made a V-neck in this fabric.

Our new waffle fabric in desert sun orange is also a favorite. Could it be the pumpkin spice vibes?

I personally equipped myself with two matching sets before leaving for my business trip to Europe this fall and I feel so happy, stylish and comfy in outfits I’m wearing on repeat!

SS: How are you making Everyday Sunday more sustainable?

ES: Everyday Sunday values true wellbeing of mind, body, and Earth, for a life well lived. Providing eco-responsible garments, while remaining accessible, is exceptionally important to us. We have started offering women’s swimwear made of recycled nylon since 2020. Today, close to 20% of all our women’s swimwear is made entirely or partly of recycled nylon.

Everyday Sunday’s loungewear is designed with a continuing focus on sustainability, using fabrics composed entirely or partly of natural or recycled fibers such as organic cotton, modal, recycled nylon and recycled polyester. We are committed to increase the use of recycled and organic fabrics for both our swimwear and comfort wear every year.

We also believe sustainability starts with good design. Our team is committed to making products that will last for seasons to come. We use carefully curated fabrics for all our garments, recycled or not. We have also eliminated paper from all internal processes. We know we have a long way to go and are committed to keep learning and improving our practices to reduce our footprint.

Finally, finding a way to give back to the planet, particularly the ocean, was a clear choice for us. This is why we choose to work closely with the Sea Turtle Conservancy, by donating to the foundation. The turtle has been known for thousands of years as a positive omen in all cultures and plays a critical role in the health of marine ecosystems. Its strong, serene and balanced attitude has inspired us to make this friendly aquatic creature our emblem.

SS: Montreal is such a cold city as the fall and winter roll in - what are your staple pieces for staying warm?

ES: The extra plush polar sets made of entirely recycled fleece are ideal to keep warm! And with the weather constantly changing on us, we also suggest layering the button up tricot shirt that comes in this beautiful grey mix. It can be paired with the matching tricot tapered pants for an elevated lounge set!

The effortless zip-up sweater will definitely keep anyone warm and stylish. We’re all for pairing it with the matching jogger.

Another personal fave: the softer than soft black sweater! Its shape plays up its simplicity. We suggest wearing it with the matching sweetheart top and flare pants for a sweet ballerina off-duty vibe!

An indispensable addition for the cold season is the ‘too cute not to leave the house’ boxy warm hoodie! It can be paired with the matching warm leggings and also comes in black. Such a cozy after-ski set! It is also offered for men.

SS: Do you vacation during the cold months? If so, where? and what are some key ES pieces you would pack in your luggage?

ES: It depends on the year but I try! I usually escape the cold weather and go to a tropical destination in the beautiful caribbean. Of course, I can’t travel to the beach without having at least 6 options of our swimwear and a few cover-ups to match. I pack versatile pieces that can be worn from day to night and do not wrinkle in my luggage. I also love to bring one-pieces that can be worn as bodysuits! Here is a peek at the pieces I wore often this summer to give you an idea:

I can’t wait to see the beach again!

SS: …and neither can we! Enjoy hearing from Everyday Sunday? Share this post with a friend who you think will love to learn more about the brand!
